HIRING RANGE DOQ: $3,585.60 - $3,999.20 bi-weekly

JOB SUMMARY  

Are you passionate about improving transportation systems and enhancing road safety? The City of Sioux Falls is seeking a skilled Principal Traffic Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will help design and implement effective traffic control plans, analyze traffic patterns, and collaborate with urban planners to tackle congestion and safety issues. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering and four (4) years’ practical experience in related civil engineering work including work associated with the management and supervision of construction project work; or any such combination of education, experience, and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority.

Must be registered or have the ability to obtain registration within six (6) months of hire, as a professional engineer or architect in the state of South Dakota and/or registered land surveyor in the state of South Dakota.

Possession of a valid driver’s license is desirable.

  • The City participates in the South Dakota Retirement System. Employees receive a 6% match.  Additionally, employees may choose to enroll in a Deferred Compensation Plan.

  • 11 paid holidays and 2 personal leave days each calendar year. 

  • New employees are granted 40 hours of vacation at time of hire and accrue an additional 2 weeks in their first year.
