The City of Sioux Falls Information Technology department is accepting applications for a part-time Service Desk-IT Support position. This is a non-benefitted position.
This position would work daytime hours, such as Tuesday-Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – currently willing to look at schedules and see what would work for both the City and the applicant.
Duties include:
- Provide an exceptional internal and external customer experience on the phone or on-site regarding technical assistance on personal computer related issues while focusing on consistently performing first-call resolution for each issue received. Use remote connection services to assist off-site customers when appropriate. Follow up as necessary to ensure customer needs are handled in a timely and efficient manner.
- Diagnose system hardware, software, and operator problems and recommend or perform remedial actions to correct problems based on knowledge of system operation.
- Investigate reported incoming emails for security issues.
- Assist with Information Technology projects to include upgrades, implementations, hardware deployments and problem resolution.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Graduation from high school or GED certification and enrolled for an Information Technology degree for post-secondary or completion of two- (2-) year vocational program in Information Technology
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Ability to perform multiple tasks with limited supervision
- Ability to work with a variety of computer users at various skill levels
