JOB SUMMARY  

Perform skilled and hazardous electrical work of the journeyman utility Line Worker level in the construction, maintenance, inspection, and repair of the City’s overhead and underground high-voltage electrical distribution and streetlighting systems, substations, and related equipment, including energized and de-energized lines, safely and efficiently.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

Graduation from high school or GED certification with a minimum of one (1) year of vocational/technical training from an accredited power line maintenance school and four (4) years’ experience as an apprentice line worker with an electric distribution utility; or any such combination of education, experience, and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority. Journeyman line worker certification desired.

Must possess or be able to obtain within 90 days of hire a valid Class A commercial driver’s license with air brake endorsement.
